Who is Billie Sue?

Billie Sue is my mother. She died when I was three years old. Because of her untimely death, growing up was difficult because I always felt as though I was a little girl who was in search of an identity, and as a result, I grew up not having a clue as to who I was. As a young adult, not understanding who I was due to not knowing where I came from, I made a lot of self-destructive choices. I accepted the low end when I should have been aiming for the high end. I guess I never truly believed that I was of any value. But you know, God is so wonderful. He will take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it around for our good. It wasn't until I returned to God, my Creator, that I learned the value of who I was in Him and then who He made me to be. He allowed me to understand my journey. He took the pain of emptiness and incompleteness due to the absence of my mother and filled it with wholeness, dreams, and possibilities.

The first thing I was led to do was find out who she was. I began asking questions of family members and people who knew her and discovered that she and I shared some of the same personality traits, gifts, and talents. She was creative; she was sensitive. She was innovative; she was funny, just like me. She knew how to draw; she knew how to sing. I even learned that we looked a lot alike, which I understand may not seem like a big deal to some. But it was a big deal because I never knew what she looked like. I never had any pictures of her. So, as you can see, learning these things about her served as a form of healing in so many ways. The woman I loved and dreamed to know all my life was just like me. Not only did this information give me a sense of identity, but it also validated me, motivated me, and empowered me. It inspired me to pursue dreams I never thought I could attain.

So, I introduce to some and present to others the Billie Sue Company. Billie Sue is not just a company; it's an empire. An empire that has embodied my mother's shared gifts and talents.
